[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]HOW Field Notes

Hello. My name is Andy, and I am addicted to Field Notes Color Editions.

I’m not sure at what point Field Notes became an every day carry for me, however, sometime between December 2014 and February 2015, my interest in using Field Notes blossomed from a vague understanding of their existence into a mild obsession. Thats a lie. It was a full-blown obsession. I had long known of the craft version, but at my brother Nick’s insistence and his Field Notes related gifts, I quickly grew to love the limited edition colors.

Nick also introduced me to Field Nuts, a community of Field Notes Fans who share a love of notebooks and writing utensils, and are often willing to sell and trade their collections. It was through this community that my drive to own and write in at least one of each Colors edition was birthed, and it’s been largely through generous Nuts that I’ve been able to realize this goal.

To give back to that community, and the larger establishment of  Field Notes fans, I’ve decided to blog through using each of the Colors Editions, which I hope will be a useful resource to new Field Notes users looking for in-depth info on actual use, and long-time users who have always dreamed about owning their own Butcher Orange or Mackinaw Autumn, and just wanna know what it feels like in your hands.

I’ll start with the next Colors Edition due out soon, the 27th such edition, and work my way back towards the 1st release: Butcher Orange. I’ll be using my every day carry books for this blog, which will allow for ample time in my back pocket, naked, to build that beautiful wear on the cover that makes me love these notebooks so much. I anticipate about 1 month of use for each book, which means it’ll likely take more than 2 years to complete the journey.

I hope you’ll join me along the way.

The thoughts, pictures, and opinions on this website are my own unless otherwise specifically noted. I am not affiliated with Field Notes Brand. I simply use their products and want to share my enjoyment of these notebooks with anyone who might be interested.
